A WELFARE-FIRST DEVELOPMENTAL STEP FOR REAL-WORLD CONFIDENCE AND FOCUS

Puppy to Pro is the next stage in the Flying Paws developmental pathway, designed for dogs who are ready to move beyond early foundations and start building calm focus in real-world environments. This step helps your dog learn how to regulate, think, and stay engaged as distractions increase, bridging the gap between training at home and real life.

    WHERE THIS STEP FITS IN YOUR DOG’S JOURNEY

    At Flying Paws, our programs follow a structured developmental pathway, from early foundations through to real-world confidence and lifelong partnership skills. Each step is intentionally designed to support emotional wellbeing, thoughtful learning, and sustainable progress.

    Sessions continue to follow Flying Paws’ welfare-first safety standards, including structured pacing, small group sizes, and emotionally safe learning environments.

    The next stage in the pathway is Paws in Practice, where these skills expand into real-world adventures and long-term reliability.

    WHAT WE develop AT THIS STAGE:

    • Calm behaviours: Your dog learns to walk past people and dogs without stress or pulling

    • Emotional regulation: Helping dogs learn to pause, think, and stay balanced as the environment becomes more exciting.

    • Improved focus: Your dog learns to check in with you instead of reacting to distractions

    • Loose lead walking & recall: Working around food, people, and other dogs

    • Leave it: Applying skills to everyday walks

    • Confidence outdoors: Using training beyond the classroom

    IS THIS PROGRAM RIGHT FOR YOUR DOG?

    This program is ideal if:

    • Your dog is 4 months or older with basic training foundations
    • You want your dog to stay calm and focused around people, dogs, and distractions
    • You’re ready to practise skills in real-world environments
    • You want practical training you can use every day

    Entry requirements & next steps:

    Puppy to Pro is designed as Step Two in the Flying Paws developmental pathway.

    • Puppies who have completed our Positive Puppy Program: can start Puppy to Pro from 4 months of age
    • Puppies who haven’t completed a puppy program: are best supported by starting in our Step One foundation, Positive Puppy Program
    • Dogs over 5 months of age who would like to join Puppy to Pro: are required to complete a pre-entry session to ensure the program is the right fit

    Please note: This program is not suitable for dogs with significant reactivity or behavioural concerns. Contact us if you’re unsure.
